Cozy Breadsticks

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon of yeast

1 1/2 cup of warm water

2 Tablespoons of sugar

1/2 teaspoon of salt

3 cups of flour

1/2 cup of butter (1 stick)

Instructions:

Gently fold your yeast into your water, cover it and let it sit for 5 minutes

In a medium bowl mix all your dry ingredients together then add your yeast mixture. Mix together and knead for 3ish minutes (you can do this with a stand mixer or you can “knead” with a danish whisk)

This dough is so sticky, you’ll think you did something wrong but it needs to be sticky.

Cover your dough with plastic and let it rise for 10 minutes

Roll out your dough on a floured surface (you’ll need to add flour to the top of the dough too). Roll it out to 1/2 inch thickness and then cut into strips with a pizza cutter.

Melt your butter until almost browned and pour onto a cookie sheet. Move your strips of dough to the sheet and dip both sides in the butter.

Add any seasonings you’d like to the top (we like rosemary and pepper or the Trader Joes 21 season salute)

Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for 15 more minutes while you preheat your oven to 350 degrees

Cook for 20 minutes

Optionally you can add parmesan cheese once they’re done.

Enjoy!
