Buttermilk Pancakes and Buttermilk Syrup

Pancake ingredients:

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoons baking soda

2 tablespoons sugar

2 eggs

2 cups buttermilk

1 tablespoons melted butter

Bacon bits

Directions:

In a bowl mix together all the dry ingredients and set aside.

In a separate bowl whisk together the buttermilk and the eggs, while stirring, pour in the melted butter.

Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk mixture and stir until just combined.

Use butter to grease your pan and add bacon bits to the pan, then pour the butter on the bacon and add more bacon on top of the batter.

Syrup Ingredients:

1 stick of butter

1/2 cup of buttermilk

1 cup of sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:

In a medium/large pot, add your butter and melt it. Once your butter is melted, add your buttermilk, sugar and vanilla. Bring to a simmer and add your baking soda, it will foam and once the foam reaches almost the top of the pot, pull it off the heat.
